ALBERTA CARBON

ALBERTA CARBON was formed to make carbon fibre in Alberta.

ALBERTA CARBON will become a standard bearer of the New Industrial World.

In this New Industrial World, the automotive, aerospace and energy industries utilize carbon-neutral energy sources, employ sustainable manufacturing methods and eliminate green house gasses, throughout their entire product life cycles.

Super-strong, Super-lightweight building materials that are electrically and thermally conductive are imperative to success in our New World.

Our goal is to be among the leading catalysts in Alberta's exploration of hydrocarbons as an energy source.

We intend to take full advantage of Alberta’s human, industrial, and geophysical attributes to become a leader in the global carbon fibre eco-system.

The future of Aviation is Carbon Fibre.

Over 50% of BOEING's new flagship, the 787, is made from from

Carbon Fibre composites.

Alberta's X Factor

Alberta has declared the use of its abundant heavy-oil and bitumen as carbon fiber feedstocks to be among its highest post-petroleum priorities. Today, carbon fibre made from "pitch-based" feedstocks, like Alberta's, represents less than 10% of the world's carbon fibre production.

Alberta Carbon estimates the optimized use of Albertan pitch as its feedstock could enable it to ship carbon fibre at wholesale prices 33% lower than its global competitors in Japan, United States and Europe.

Perfection of large-scale, pitch based production technologies could establish Alberta as the global price leader of high-quality carbon fibre.

A global car manufacturer based in Detroit told ALBERTA CARBON "for every 1% carbon fibre falls in price, it will increase its use of carbon fibre by 10%."

After we have achieved operational and commercial success with currently available manufacturing processes, we intend to commercialize and integrate production technologies that fully exploit Alberta's heavy-oil and bitumen as carbon fibre feedstocks.
